1. Best Resume Format
Your resume has to be very well-organized in such a way that recruiters will consider reading it diligently.
There are multiple ready-made formats available for drafting a resume online. You should choose a simple yet elegant format to draft your resume.
The order in which the resume is drafted also matters. The detailed order will be discussed in the next section.
Font selection should be in such a way that it makes your resume look more appealing and professional. Some of such fonts include Times New Roman, Cambria, Calibri, etc.
Always forward a PDF copy of your resume, as it won’t disturb any format.
2. Resume Content
Resume should start with a header that has your Name followed by your title and other relevant personal information.
Personal Details should be followed by the Educational Details. Educational details can be best described in a tabular format. This is shown in the attached resume template.
Professional Summary or a Career Goal can be a short description of what do you wish to achieve. It can be written in 1-2 sentences.
You can then write about your accomplishments that include your achievements, awards, etc.
In the subsequent sections, you can include the details of your projects, internships, technical skills, leadership skills, extra-curricular activities, etc.
3. Modifications as per Job Description
Demonstrate relevant qualifications and experience to show that you are the most suitable candidate for the role.
Writing relevant material is much easier when you have read the job description and understood it properly. You need not list down all of your details in the sections described above, but simply those that are most relevant to the role.
Go through the job description thoroughly and pick up the key words from the same and make sure to fit these key words at relevant places in your resume.
Describe the details of a project wherein you have addresses a problem that they were trying to resolve, if any.
Be sure to specify all information as per the job requirement.
